Professional Profile
Professor Yvonne Spielmann (Ph.D., Dr. habil.) has long track record of academic and leadership experience in media, communication, arts and culture in Higher Education at international levels across Europe and Asia. 2012-2015 she was Dean of Faculty of Fine Arts at Lasalle College of the Arts in Singapore and member of the senior management team, 2007-2012 Research Professor and Chair of New Media at University of the West of Scotland, and 2001-2007 Professor of Visual Media at Braunschweig University of Art.
Research
Over 30 years of experience in teaching, research and university management across Europe, USA and Asia, supervision and evaluation of students, doctoral students, staff and study programmes at international institutions. Monograph book publications include: “Indonesian Contemporary Art”, “Hybrid Culture”, “Video”, “Intermediality” and over 100 essays.
Coaching and Consultancy
Consultancy experience in further education, advanced training and professional development with emphasis on: internationalisation, intercultural communication and diversity management, creative industries, digital media culture, human resources development and leadership development, women in leadership positions, newly appointed professors, university graduates, career entry to and from abroad (focus on Asia), soft skills for freelance work and self-employment.
Language Lecturer and Examiner for German as Foreign Language
Teaching experience in German as a foreign language for all levels A1-C2, English, work-related German courses, professional language for care and nursing/medical doctors, education and social services, and in integration and orientation courses, in private education institutions. Licence as Telc-examiner.
